Portrait Drawing with Sam Brisley

Sam has been attending Nick’s classes for nearly three years, and his approach to portrait drawing compliments Nick’s methods. Sam will walk you through the steps he uses to create dramatic, 3-D looking portraits.

You will learn about basic proportions of the human head and how to use the Loomis Head to produce the initial lay-in.  Sam will show you how to simplify the facial anatomy using the Reilly Method.

You will also learn about shadow mapping and how understanding core shadows and cast shadows can really improve your portraits.
